40-Hour Week Challenge: Day 2.5
March 31, 2007 Posted by Tyler CruzYou’ll notice I titled this day 2.5 and not day 3. That’s because my sleep schedule is again messed up and I just awoke from a nap. With 2.5 days gone already and only 4.5 more to go, I’ve only worked a total of 6 hours so far, leaving me with 34 hours to hit in a 4.5 day timeframe!
The reason I just took a nap is from my own stupidity. I was up playing poker last night looking at the time, seeing it was 5 AM, and wondering why the hell I wasn’t getting sleepy yet. Then I realized that for some strange reason, which I still don’t know how it happened, I was somehow drinking a Red Bull. Smart.
So, my sleep schedule is again messed up. I only got a few hours sleep since I had to go pick up my suit. Here are some pictures.

Me.
Me pondering.
Me pondering at computer.
Me doing my “classic” shot. I can’t have a picture taken without doing at least one of these.

Comment’s Comments
Wow. I knew there were a lot of lurkers on my blog, but didn’t know there were so many comment lurkers. I guess I really underestimated how lazy many people are, but I can certainly understand it, being close friends with lazy myself.
At the time of this writing, there are 16 comments on my last post, and my last post wasn’t even that particularly interesting! We’ll have to see if this spike in number of comments continues or if was just a coincidence..
Spare a Coin Kind Sir?
I’m exactly $11 short of matching my previous best month’s earning of private ad sales for Poker Forums. How much was that? Well, I won’t disclose that unless I meet it. But with only 27 hours or so left until the month is over, I highly doubt I’ll match this, which is very sad indeed.
All I need is to sell 1 more ad slot and I’ll have my previous record beaten. Now, I could contact various advertisers and offer them a nice slot with a nice discount, but that’d be cheating. I can’t cheat…
Burgundy is such a boring colour for a shirt, try a bright lime green or bright orange, but not so much for a funeral, go for a white shirt.
I like burgandy.
Red Bull is some messed up stuff (as I sit here at 130am having been up since 530am). I did it without red bull though.
Whuts Red Bull? [PLite is puzzoled.]
Yeah people are just lazy, i also never posted a comment because i had to sign up (i don’t like to sign up at every blog i read)
@PigsnieLite: Its an energy drink (it contains allot of caffeine and other stuff that keep you awake)
btw tyler, maybe it’s smart to instal Brians Threaded Comments 1.5.9 (download: http://meidell.dk/archives/2006/12/19/brians-threaded-comments-159/)
it’s a great plugin
You can easily still meet the ‘challenge’. It’s not even 10 hours a day. It’s very possible, you just have to, well, do it.
That tie looks a bit dodgy, but i love your spammer picture 🙂
I love what you’ve done with the place – might wanna go easy on the clutter though!
Let me get this off my chest, with the suit you look more like some asshole boss than some 40-hour-a-weeker.
On the topic of the ad topic, your goal must be a big number. Why petition for it? I’m still waiting for make my first $100 from Google, and no I wont be making over $100 online this month 🙁
Nice suit, what did you get it for?
Hey Tyler, you should add the top commentators plugin on this blog. 🙂
Yeah i agree with the others, the suit looks spiffy… heck it should considering how much you paid for it heh.
And yeah, you aren’t the only one on a screwed up sleeping schedule. Try as I might, I just can’t seem to fall asleep until like 4-5 a.m. Sucks!
Heh, great use of the work day, dressing up and taking pictures of yourself 😛
HAHA cam 🙂
[…] and a lot of hard work. Some people can get to the point where they struggle to try and work even 40 hours a week, however, that is after a lot of hard work. Contrarily, most recognize it as a hard task that is […]
Office room is looking a bit bare, put something on those walls. Good luck with the 40hrs a week plan!
[…] guess the reason I like his site so much is because he lives the life I would like to. He had a series about how he was going to work a 40-hour work week. After 2.5 days, he only worked 4.5 hours. My […]
Heh, I’m a minimalist in many ways. Putting things on walls and such just clutters the place up IMHO, and makes it look smaller.
