Affiliate Marketing Challenge 3: Week 2 Results

We’re almost half way into the Affiliate Marketing Challenge 3. There’s still plenty of time to register and earn your way to a prize (or prizes), so don’t let starting a little bit late affect your decision. In fact, there is still currently nobody eligible for 3rd place of the New Referrals category, meaning that all you currently need to do is generate $0.01 to take the position and win yourself a flexible illuminated keyboard.

If you haven’t entered yet, I highly recommend you do. MarketLeverage has put up so many great prizes that it’s certainly worth your while to try to compete for them. I’m actually very envious of you guys and wish I could compete in my own contest! I’d be in contention for the Nintendo DS & Guitar Hero if I could…

For those of you who have signed up but are having trouble making any leads or sales, keep working at it! Part of the great thing about this competition is that it really pushes and encourages you to make more money through affiliate marketing. I know of at least a few contestants who have surprised themselves by raking in a lot more dough that they thought they could, simply due to the nature of competition.

Current Rankings

Here are the latest rankings as of August 13th, 5:06PM Pacific time.

I’ve now referred a total of 94 affiliates to MarketLeverage, of which 10 signed up during this current competition.

Together, during this competition thus far, they’ve generated a total of $25,637.20 in commissions. The current leaderboards are shown below:

Unsurprisingly, “The Behemoth” has continued to show his complete and utter dominance in the competition, having generated nearly $20,000 in just two weeks. The undefeated, two-time competition winner, has slowed his pace slightly and he might not end up reaching the $50,000 VIP tier to take home the Panasonic 60GB HD Drive Camcorder, but he’d still get the Playstation 3 and game…

There have still been no big/super affiliates that have joined the competition yet. While this is not great news for me, it’s fantastic news for you guys as it means the competition is quite low. The only real competition is for the 1st and 2nd place spots in the Main Category.

“The Rocket” appears to have stepped things up a bit, having doubled this week what he generated in the first week. He’s already generated over double what he made in the previous competition, so he’s definitely an interesting one to watch. He’s still only generated a quarter of what "The Behemoth" did, but is slowly catching up.

Lastly, we see a new name on the leaderboards: CD10565, "The Magician". I’ve named him the Magician since I in fact know he’s a magic fan. He just started affiliate marketing for this competition and is brand new but already in 3rd place in the main category and 1st in the new affiliates category. This should serve as inspiration and motivation for all those of you who are brand new to affiliate marketing!

Blogging Entrants

They has still been only 2 people who have blogged about this competition. That means that as it stands right now, if you wrote a blog post about this competition, you would be guaranteed a prize (as long as 3 more bloggers don’t post about it) since there are 5 prizes available.

Competition Goals and Thoughts

My personal goal for this competition was for the total amount of commissions to hit $50,000. After two weeks, the total stands at $25,637.20, so things look pretty good, but it will still be tight.

I’m a bit disappointed with the level of participation in this 3rd competition so far. There are still two weeks left so things can definitely change, but I’m just surprised that with all of the prizes that are up for grabs that more people aren’t participating…
