PeerFly’s Huge Affiliate Marketing Giveaway

April 13, 2009 Posted by Tyler Cruz

On April 1st, PublisherChallenge launched its biggest affiliate marketing contest to date by partnering with the new affiliate network PeerFly to launch the PeerFly Huge Giveaway.

This competition has the highest guaranteed Main Category prize pool of any prior competition hosted by me or on PublisherChallenge, with a total of $3,000 up for grabs. As usual, there is no minimum prerequisite required to compete in the Main Category.

In addition, PeerFly has upped the ante on the VIP tier prizes and has increased the prize values of them significantly as well.

Some of the prizes for the competition include two VIP Las Vegas trips, 2 electric scooters, a 52-inch HDTV, and a Macbook to name but a few.

A Quick Introduction to PeerFly

PeerFly is a brand new affiliate network at only 3 months old which is already off to a great start. It is owned by an ex-super affiliate which means that he knows what affiliate marketers need and like in a network.

They run on 100% custom-programmed software and not on DirectTrack so it is fast, smooth, bug-free, and easy to work with. They also have some nice features such as true instant reporting and access to Postback URLs.

PeerFly offers weekly-wires to larger affiliates and can match or beat any street payout other networks offer.

The Competition is Weak!

While PublisherChallenge already managed to sign up 44 affiliates to PeerFly by itself, I’m also posting about the contest here since the competition has been very weak so far. This means that you can win some awesome prizes for very little effort on your part.

Let’s take a look at the current standings:102

13 days into the competition, 1st place is at $338 and 5th at $23.20, with 17 more days left to go. While I’m thankful for the contestants who have been competing thus far, I’m also quite surprised there hasn’t been more action with all the awesome prizes up for grabs.

For example, 1st place in the Main Category (no minimum prerequisite required remember) is an Aluminum 13-inch MacBook worth $1,300. The guy currently in 1st place, SM, is on pace to finish the competition with $780. Assuming he ends up winning, he’ll be winning a $1,300 prize which is nearly double what he earned from his own commissions!

I don’t like to oversimplify affiliate marketing to make it sound super easy as it’s not, but really all you need to do is run a break-even campaign at $50 a day  to take home a brand new Macbook. If I could compete in this competition myself I definitely would as I could actually use a Macbook myself.

The Macbook is just one example though. Hell, 4th place is a Nintendo Wii Friends Bundle and 4th place is only on pace to finish $160 for the month! That will be a pretty sweet prize for only generating an average of $5 a day.

No offence to Peerfly (they are a new network and kudos for giving it a go) but I’m finding the same offers/similar offers with much better payouts on other networks. Prize or no prize I’m not going to throw cash at anything that isn’t overall profitable (I might as well just buy a Mac Book).

I admint I’m rubbish at the PPC stuff so bowed out early doors with this. I think maybe some of those above me saw a cost-per conversion vs payout ratio and have done the same?

    • Corey says:

      Hi Paul,

If you find an offer at a higher rate on another network all you have to do is contact your affiliate manager and we will either meet and in most cases beat their prices.

    • Chad says:

Paul, as Corey said… if you see higher payouts with another network on a particular offer, let us know and we will meet or beat it (based on street values). We always make it a priority to beat the street competition when new campaigns are added, so if you’re finding better payouts… contact us.

  2. I decided a week ago to have a shot at this competition. Having no practical experience, this was going to be my first campaign and I had high hopes due to the weak competition. I set up a campaign, got my sales letter and landing page done and actually had my daily budget at $66.00. 15,000+ impressions later and only 31 clicks I had no conversions. Not sure what’s wrong but I plan on tweaking my campaign, landing page etc. until I get my first sale. I guess the first sale is always the hardest..

Yes, but it’s also the most exciting. I can pretty much guarantee you that it will make your day when you get that first lead.

If you’re running a campaign that has a high payout then you will naturally see longer ‘quiet’ periods before making a lead. Feel free to contact ChadPeerFly on AIM to ask him for any tips, suggestions, etc. as he used to be a super affiliate before launching PeerFly and is available to help any of my referrals.

  3. Geiger says:

    Weak? I’ll show YOU weak!
I challenge you to arm wrestling if ever we meet! Grrr….

  4. Nice contest , but payouts are pretty low and they don’t have many offers in the niche I promote.

However I will run their stuff closer to the end of the month , shouldn’t be hard at all to get 1st or 2nd at these rates.

  5. Windows 7 says:

Thanks, very interesting read, you should be commended on your website,
can see that you have put some effort into it, to many dud sites around these days.

    Kind Regards

  6. the prize is cool, i will joint right now. thanks.

  7. KushMoney says:

The prizes look awesome. I haven’t started my campaigns yet. I place a few links and banners on my websites but no converts yet. Will start my campaign mid-April. Have a lot of work to do with my websites before I can start and focus on my campaign.

  8. IncomeSpace says:

I think that is a very smart thing to start. It may take them a while to grow but once they do they will be set!
